OF APOPKA - FINAL <br />CHANGE ORDER AND RELEASE OF RETAINAGE <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of August 27, 2002: <br />TO: James Chandler, County Administrator <br />THROUGH: James W. Davis, P.E., Public Works Director <br />FROM: <br />W. Keith McCully, P.E., Esq., Stoimwater Engineer/Al <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF FINAL CHANGE ORDER AND RELEASE OF <br />RETAINAGE FOR VERO LAKE ESTATES STORMWATER <br />IMPROVEMENTS, PHASE I <br />DATE: August 27, 2002 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On November 20, 2001, the County Commission executed a construction contract with C. E. M. <br />Enterprises, Inc of Apopka, Florida, to construct Phase I stormwater improvements to the Vero Lake <br />Estates subdivision. The Contract is complete and we now ask the Commission to approve Final <br />Change Order No. 5 and the release of retainage for the project. <br />Final Change Order No. 5 includes some necessary miscellaneous construction work such as <br />additional sod and pipe, and it adjusts the Contract quantities to reflect Record Drawing quantities. <br />It increases the project cost by $31,194.32. (Note that Change Order Item No. 1 is for additional <br />work that was required because some flared end sections did not fit properly onto the end of the pipe <br />The pipe supplier has already reimbursed the County for the full amount of this Change Order Item <br />(S9,782.62). Therefore the actual `out-of-pocket ' expense for the County for this Change Order is <br />$21,411.70.) The revised final Contract Price is $1,549,742.47 <br />The final pay request also includes the release of the project retainage, $154,974.25. <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 2002 39 <br />• <br />• <br />
