Collins II — Deputy County Attorney <br />DATE: September 11, 2002 <br />SUBJECT: Resolution Opposing Mandatory Appointment of Value Adjustment <br />Board Special Masters <br />As authorized by the Board of County Commissioners on August 13, 2002, <br />attached is a resolution opposing certain provisions within Chapter 2000-18, <br />Laws of Florida, which require the appointment of special masters to hear Value <br />Adjustment Board cases and require exchange of information between <br />petitioners and the Property Appraiser within a 5 -day period, thus limiting the <br />number of hearings which can be scheduled on any day and extending the <br />hearings over a period of months. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Pass the attached resolution. <br />September 17, 2002 <br />27 <br />• <br />r•1 <br />s <br />• <br />
