Bob Stiastny, 426 Date Palm Road, past president of the Indian River Chapter of the Air <br />Force Association, as well as a representative on the Veterans Council, commented that their current <br />chief service officer has just resigned and it will be very important for the new service officers to <br />receive the proper training. <br />Chairman Ginn stated that everyone can be assured they will get to the required seminars. <br />Chairman Ginn asked if anyone else wished to be heard at this time. There being none, she <br />closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Adams stated that travel expenses have been allotted for the first time to the <br />Planning & Zoning Commission members and she believed this would set a precedent, leading to <br />travel expenses for all committees. She asked that that amount be removed from the budget. <br />County Administrator Chandler noted that expenditure would be properly addressed during <br />the discussion for the MSTU budget. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously adopted <br />the tentative millage rate of 4.0501 for the General Fund, <br />as recommended by staff. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Stanbridge, the Board unanimously <br />adopted the tentative budget of $58,915,505 for the <br />General Fund, as recommended by staff. <br />5.2. MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING UNIT (M. S. T. U.) <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in this <br />matter.
