asked the Board for a commitment of support to save the fire tower so her volunteer group could <br />proceed with clean-up, restoration, and developing programs with schools and agencies. <br />After a brief discussion, the Chairman suggested staff develop a Memorandum of <br />Agreement, ask the County Attorney to review and formalize it, and bring it back to the Board as <br />an Agenda item for formal action. <br />Vice Chairman Solari felt that a good model for this would be the Heritage Center, and <br />he volunteered to help with a "race to the top of the tower" fund raiser. <br />Administrator Baird mentioned that a site plan should be considered since Emergency <br />Services funds were used to purchase the land from the State. <br />Hildie Tripson, President of the Indian River County Historical Society, made <br />observations regarding Indian River County and how it prides itself on always taking care of its <br />history while looking forward to the future. <br />SC.
