PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO SECTION 205 OF THE INDIAN RIVER CODE <br /> OF ORDINANCES TO PERMIT LICENSED SALE OFALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES <br /> AT THE INDL4NRIVER COUNTYFAIRGROUNDSAND INTERGENERATIONAL <br /> RECREATION CENTER <br /> Assistant County Administrator Michael Zito reported that there have been ongoing <br /> requests from individuals who want to sell alcoholic beverages at various events held at the <br /> County Fairgrounds . He stated that in response, staff is requesting that the Board consider <br /> amending Section 205 . 03 , Subsection 26 (b), of County Code, which prohibits the consumption <br /> of alcoholic beverages in parks and recreational facilities, so that exceptions can be granted to <br /> individually licensed vendors . He thereafter presented staff' s recommendation for the Board to <br /> direct the County Attorney to advertise the ordinance amendment in final form, for a public <br /> hearing . <br /> Commissioner Solari observed that this is a significant issue and encouraged community <br /> input at the public hearing, or by email or telephone . <br /> j ON MOTION by Commissioner Solari, SECONDED by <br /> Commissioner Davis, by a 4- 0 vote (Chairman Wheeler <br /> absent), the Board directed the County Attorney to <br /> advertise the proposed ordinance amendment to Section <br /> 205 of the Indian River County Code, and directed the <br /> County Attorney to advertise the ordinance in final form, <br /> including any approved changes to the draft, for adoption <br /> in accordance with Florida law, as recommended in the <br /> memorandum of September 25 , 2012 . <br /> 12.D.
