Minutes of March 3rd meeting were read and the same: approved upon Motion of <br />er <br />Commission/Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and carried. <br />.Minutes of Special Meeting of March 24th were read and the same approved <br />upon Motion of Commissioner Hamilton, second by Commissioner Watts and carried. <br />Mr. Bates of the Indian River County Fire Control Unit appeared before the <br />Board and gave a report as to the activities of the Unit as to what had been done in the past <br />and their anticipated work for the future, stating to the Board that they were ready and <br />willing to cooperate in every way possible and that they likewise appreciatei'the`interest and j <br />l <br />cooperation which had been extended to them by the several members of the Board. <br />Commissioner Waddell presented a letter which advised that the State Budget <br />Commission was planning,to reduce the budget of State Forestry Control a half a million dollar <br />�e <br />and after discussion in the matter -it was decided to transmit said letter and statement of <br />li <br />the complete budget to Representative -Sherman N-. Smith, Jr. in Tallahassee for his thought <br />and consideration relating to same. <br />On Motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and <br />carried, the Board agreed to proceed with the•construction of colored rest rooms joining <br />the Court House as outlined by E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent. <br />s <br />The Board authorized expenses not to,exceed the sum of $50.00 for Elmer j <br />li <br />Harris, County Service Officer, to attend the second annual State-wide Service Officer's <br />School and Conference of the Florida Department of Veterans at Daytona Beach on Mayer 7, 8 i, <br />and 9, 1953. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen appeared beofre the Board and made a report of her <br />activities for the month of March and said report was ordered filed with Douglas Baker, <br />Clerk, <br />Commissioner Warren suggested that requests for a veterinarian here in Indian <br />River County made some several months ago be renewed with Alabama Polytechnic Institute and <br />Dr. Dee, Secretary to the State Board of Veterinary Examiners. <br />The Board designated priority on bridges to be built from surplus Race Track <br />Funds already allocated by•previous action of the Board to the Road and Bridge Fund, as <br />follows: <br />al. Oslo and Lateral B Road - <br />2. North Relief Canal and Kingts Highway Road <br />3, Northwest Beach Road <br />4. South Gifford Road <br />5.
