WHEREAS, it is the information of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, Florida, that the Indian River Mosquito Control District is interested in re- <br />locating the inland waterway navigation channel of Indian River within Indian River County, <br />Florida; and, <br />WHEREAS9 it is the opinion of the Board of County Commissioners that the inland <br />waterway navigation channel of Indian giver should be relocated between Channel Markers No. <br />94 and No. 128, by moving the channel to the west and directing it in a course as direct as <br />possible between the two channel markers mentioned, without cutting through existing islands; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Board of County Commissioners that such re- <br />location of said channel would correct existing navigation hazards, would result in more eco- <br />nomical maintenance and would assist the mosquito and sandfly control program in the County <br />by the more desirable utilization of spoil; NOW THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, request that the U. S. Army Engineers consider the relocation of the inland waterway <br />navigation channel of Indian River between Channel Markers No. 94 and No. 128, in Indian <br />River County, locating the channel to the west of its existing location and in as direct a <br />route as possible through open water, to the west of existing islands. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, request the U. S. Army Engineers to make a survey of that portion of Indian <br />River between Channel Markers No. 94 and No. 128, in Indian River County, Florida, for the <br />purpose of determining the.feasibility of the location of said inland navigation channel as <br />herein requested. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County , Florida, will cooperate in obtaining the relocation of existing draws and bridges <br />as may be necessitated by the relocation of said channel. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the <br />office of U. S. Army Engineers, Jacksonville, Florida; Commodore Stanley Kitching, Chairman, <br />Florida Inland Navigation District, P. 0, Box 424, Stuart, Florida; C. B. Johnson, Member of <br />the Board of Commission of Florida Inland Navigation District of Indian River County, Vero <br />Beach, Florida; and E. M. Becton, Director of Indian River Mosquito Control District of <br />Indian River County, Vero Beach, Florida. <br />Upon being duly seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, the same was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were <br />0 <br />examined and found correct, were approved and warrants issued in settlement <br />of same. <br />Such <br />Bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of The Circuit <br />Court, the <br />warrants <br />so issued from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute <br />Book, as <br />provided <br />by the rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list.so <br />recorded <br />being <br />made a part of these minutes. <br />The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts <br />and <br />dis= <br />bursements of the various funds, which have been audited, were found to be <br />correct. <br />
