PROCLAMATION <br />HONORING SCOTT SMITH ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM <br />INDL4N RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCYSERVICES/FIRE RESCUE <br />WHEREAS, Scott Smith is retiring from Indian River County effective January 18, <br />2014; and <br />WHEREAS, Scott Smith began his career with Indian River County on October 15, <br />1979 as a Firefighter with South Indian River County Fire District. He was promoted <br />to Engineer on March 7, 1982. He became an EMT on February 7, 1983 On <br />September 28, 1990, he became a Fire Lieutenant with Indian River_ County Fire <br />Rescue, which is the position he will hold until his retirement; and <br />WHEREAS, Scott Smith has served this County and the Public with distinction and <br />selflessness. During his thirty-four years of service, he was dedicated and his work was <br />greatly appreciated by his employer, citizens, and co-workers alike; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDL4N RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board <br />applauds Scott Smith's efforts on behalf of the County, and the Board wishes to <br />express their appreciation for the dedicated service he has given to Indian River <br />County for the last thirty-four years; and <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of County Commissioners and staff <br />extend heartfelt wishes for success in his future endeavors! <br />Adopted this 14th day of January 2014. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIANRIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Peter D. 0 Bryan, Chairman <br />
