December 9, 2013 <br />Mr. Joseph Baird, County Administrator <br />Indian River County <br />1801 27th Street, Building A (South) <br />Vero Beach, FL 32960-3365 <br />Subject: Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee <br />Dear Mr. Baird: <br />In accordance with the Bylaws of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), the <br />December meeting is designated as the Annual meeting, at which time the appointment of members and <br />alternates is to occur. It is therefore requested that the Board of County Commissioners take the <br />necessary action to appoint five members and five alternates for the upcoming year. <br />The Strategy Committee must represent the main economic interests of the region, and must include <br />private sector representatives as a majority of its membership. The Strategy Committee should include: <br />public officials; community leaders; representatives of workforce development boards; representatives of <br />institutions of higher education; minority and labor groups; and private individuals. <br />The Indian River County Board of Commissioners may want to consider ratifying. its current <br />appointments for a one-year term (January 2014 — December 2014) or make new appointments. The <br />following members from Indian River County currently serve on the Treasure Coast Regional Planning <br />Council CEDS Committee: <br />District 1 - Member Mark Mathes <br />District 2 - Member Rich Stringer <br />District 3 - Member Helene Caseltine <br />District 4 - Member Randy Riley <br />District 5 - Member Glen Heran <br />Sincerely, <br />Michael J.
