0 <br />1 <br />l <br />0 <br />1 <br />40 <br />1 <br />Ll <br />0� <br />There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />Board then adjourned. <br />ATTEST: <br />CLERK <br />CHA I <br />TUESDAY,, MAY 5. 1953 <br />The•Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court <br />House in regular meeting at 9:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday, May 5, 1953, with the following <br />members present: Commissioners W. C. Graves, Jr., Aubrey•L. Waddell, H' C. Watts, J. J. P. <br />Hamilton, and Allison Warren. Also present were Marshall 0. Mitchell, Attorney, L. B. O'Steen, <br />Sheriff; E. E. Carter, Road & Bridge Superintendent; and Douglas Baker, Clerk. <br />Minutes of April 7th meeting were read and the same approved upon Motion of <br />Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and carried. <br />E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent, reported it would cost approxi- _ <br />mately Twenty -Five Hundred ($2500.00) Dollars for the construction of the colored restrooms <br />according to plans submitted to the Board. <br />Upon Motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Warren and <br />carried, Mr. Carter was instructed to proceed with the construction of the said restrooms <br />and that upon advice of Attorney Mitchell, expenditures for same were authorized to be made <br />from the Capital Outlay Fund. <br />It was ordered that the purchase price of the new growers fire truck recently <br />purchased from the Roland Miller Chevrolet Agency be paid One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars <br />from the Road and Bridge Fund and Twelve Hundred Fifteen and 81/100 ($1215.81) Dollas from <br />the Capital Outlay Fund. <br />Dr. Ben Wyman, Quad -County Health Director met with the Board and discussed <br />matters of importance pertaining to the County Sanatorium and -additional clerical help for <br />the County Health Unit. Commissioner Waddell was appointed on Committee regarding the latter. <br />Major Harold Mason was present and gave a report as to the results of the recently <br />held County Fair. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker appeared before the Board <br />and made a report of her activities for the Month of May. Said report was received and <br />filed with the Clerk. <br />The following were appointed Deputy Sheriff's by L. B. O'Steen and Douglas <br />Baker announced that said appointments had been filed with him: <br />NAME PRECINCT N0._ ADDRESS <br />Howard L.
