REQUEST TO SPEAK FROM CITY OF VERO BEACH COUNCILMEMBER <br />BRIAN HEADY REGARDING UPDATE ON LATEST DEVELOPMENTS <br />REGARDING CITY OF VERO BEACH ELECTRIC UTILITY <br />Brian Heady, City of Vero Beach Councilmember, speaking as a City of Vero Beach <br />Councilmember and a citizen, averred that the City would have an open and transparent <br />government under the new mayor, Jay Kramer. He expressed appreciation for the County's <br />policy of transparency and openness, which has helped to keep the public informed on the <br />electric utility issue. Mr. Heady reported that Tracy Carroll and Pilar Turner are the City's new <br />liaisons for matters pertaining to the Electric Utility, and the Water, Wastewater, and Reclaimed <br />Water Utility, respectively, and asked the Board to continue to allow the City's updates on those <br />issues. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan mentioned that Mayor Kramer had attended the last Board of <br />County Commission meeting. He extended a welcome to audience members City of Vero <br />Beach Vice Mayor Pilar Turner and Councilmember Tracy Carroll, and stated he was looking <br />forward to a new openness and communication with the City. <br />Chairman Solari remarked on the spirit of cooperation occurring between the County and <br />the City at the November 14, 2010 Annual Firefighters Chili Cook -Off, and affirmed that he, too, <br />was looking forward to working with the Vero Beach Councilmembers. <br />26 <br />November 16, 2010 <br />
