14.E. COMMISSIONER TIMZORC <br />14.E.1. ISO (INSURANCE SERVICES OFFICE) COUNTY RATINGS <br />Commissioner Zorc provided background on his request to hold anoint workshop <br />meeting with Indian River and St Lucie counties, for the purpose of having Julius Halas, <br />Division Director, Florida Division of State Fire Marshall, Tallahassee (or his designee) provide <br />an update on possible ways to improve the communities' Insurance Services Office (ISO) <br />ratings. He asked that the program take place at the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commission Chambers. <br />Chairman O'Bryan appointed Commissioner Zorc as the facilitator for the ISO ratings <br />workshop. <br />Vice Chairman Davis mentioned that it might be worth hiring an individual or firm to <br />explore Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) flood zone issues. <br />(Clerk's Note: Commissioner Zorc requested to discuss additional matters and the <br />Chairman granted him additional time at 1:05 p.m.) <br />Commissioner Zorc reported that he had received an invitation to attend a football game <br />with Florida Atlantic University (FAU)'s president, and asked for clarification on the policies <br />(Florida Statutes 112.313 and County Code Chapter 104) governing the County Commissioners' <br />acceptance of food, gifts, or invitations. <br />Attorney Reingold explained the differences between the Florida Statute and County <br />Code, and advised that under the latter, the Commissioner would be unable to accept the <br />proffered ticket <br />BK 144PG613 <br />November 19, 2013 24 <br />
