AMNESTYPROGRAM FOR UTILITIES DELINQUENCY CHARGES <br /> MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Solari, <br /> SECONDED by Commissioner Davis , to approve an <br /> Amendment to Indian River County Ordinance 201 . J (4) <br /> to allow for waiving of delinquency charges during a <br /> Board approved amnesty period and to proceed with <br /> setting the required public hearings necessary to change <br /> the Ordinance to allow for the waiver of delinquency <br /> charges on reserve accounts during the Board approved <br /> 30- day amnesty period, as recommended in the <br /> memorandum of December 5 , 2011 . <br /> Vice Chairman O ' Bryan said that overall he supports the program, but did not think it <br /> : <br /> would be fair to the account holders who have been paying their balances in a timely manner. <br /> He did not support 100 % amnesty, and wanted a penalty for those paying late . <br /> Administrator Baird clarified that the account holder would still pay their past base utility <br /> charges , but their compounded interest and penalties would be waived . <br /> December 13 , 2011 22 By 7 <br />
