Chairman Solari mentioned that Management and Budget Director Jason Brown came up <br />with another detail on the equipment list, which brings the current book value to $800,000 for the <br />equipment, and also noted the lease amount is about $240,000 per year. <br />Commissioner Davis voiced his reasons for feeling uneasy about leasing County <br />equipment to a private company, yet was committed to the success of privatization. He sought <br />clarification on the equipment that will be leased, its insurance coverage, and aired his concerns <br />about equipment sitting idle for three months. <br />Attorney Allan S. Polackwich, Sr further explained the three-month lease, and pointed <br />out that paragraph seven contemplates that this equipment will be auctioned, and that the lease <br />will terminate when the auction is complete, on or about January 25, 2011. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the charging of batteries and keeping the surplus equipment <br />serviceable; depreciation on the surplus equipment; and the maintenance agreement with <br />Republic Services relating to County -leased equipment. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Flescher, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Davis, the Board unanimously approved <br />and authorized the Chairman to execute the Temporary <br />Equipment Lease with Republic Services of Florida, d/b/a <br />Treasure Coast Refuse, as recommended in the <br />memorandum of December 14, 2010. <br />ALL BACKUP DOCUMENTATION, RESOLUTIONS, AND ORDINANCES ARE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE <br />OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD AND ARE HEREBY MADE A PART OF THESE MINUTES <br />December 21, 2010 <br />S.W.D.D. <br />2 <br />
