Community Development Director Bob Keating revealed that Float -On Corporation is <br />proposing to expand its operation from 14 employees to 45 and is applying for a local jobs <br />grant. He stated that under the Indian River County Local Jobs Grant program criteria, the <br />company qualifies for ajobs grant in the amount of $137,000, which will be paid over a three- <br />year period, and in three phases. He conveyed that the Economic Development Council had <br />reviewed the jobs grant and recommended Board approval. <br />Helene Caseltine, Economic Development Director with the Indian River County <br />Chamber of Commerce, introduced the principals of Float -On Corporation. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Flescher, <br />SECONDED by Vice Chairman Davis, to approve staff's <br />recommendation. <br />There was a brief discussion regarding the Tax Abatement Program, and evaluating the <br />process to make it more user-friendly. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the <br />Motion carried unanimously. The Board approved a Local <br />Jobs Grant of up to $137,000 for Float -On Corporation <br />and authorized the Chairman to execute the Jobs Grant <br />Agreement after approval of the agreement by appropriate <br />County staff and the County Attorney's office, as <br />recommended in the memorandum of November 19, 2013. <br />AGREEMENT ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />12.B.
