DERYL LOAR, INDIANRIVER COUNTYSHERIFF <br /> STATE CRIMINAL ALIENASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SCAAP) FY2011 AWARD <br /> Sheriff Deryl Loar provided background on his request to transfer the State Criminal <br /> Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) funds of $ 88 , 050 . 00 from the Board ' s bank account to the <br /> Sheriffs Corrections Operating Expense account. He noted that there has been a significant <br /> decrease in the SCAAP funds , which last year were awarded in the amount of $ 144, 000 . <br /> ON MOTION by Vice Chairman O ' Bryan, SECONDED <br /> by Commissioner Solari , the Board unanimously approved <br /> the issuance of a County check in the amount of <br /> $ 88 , 050 . 00, to the County Sheriffs Department, with <br /> $ 15 , 849 . 00 to be used for payment to the consulting firm <br /> of Justice Benefits, Inc . (JBI), and the balance of <br /> $ 72 ,201 . 00 to augment funds needed for inmate care, as <br /> recommended in the letter of November 29 , 2011 . <br /> 10 , PUBLIC ITEMS <br /> 10.A.
