13 . COUNTY ATTORNEY MATTERS <br /> 13.A. INDIANRIVER COUNTY COMMITTEES - VACANCIES <br /> County Attorney Alan S . Polackwich, Sr. reported that the County ' s review of committee <br /> member terms and reappointments has concluded . He announced that the committee vacancies <br /> have been posted on the County ' s website, with the intent for the appointments to be made by <br /> January 15 (2012) , pursuant to Resolution 2011 - 072, adopted September 13 , 2011 , reestablishing <br /> the terms of members of certain boards and committees . <br /> It was noted that the existing vacancy on the Children' s Services Advisory Committee <br /> has recently been filled by Paul Tanner. <br /> No Board Action Required or Taken <br /> 14 . COMMISSIONER ITEMS <br /> M.A. COMMISSIONER GARY C. WHEELER. CHAIRMAN - NONE <br /> 14. B. COMMISSIONER PETER D. 0IBR YAN. VICE CHAIRMAN - NONE <br /> 14. C. COMMISSIONER WESLEY S. DA VIS <br /> McC. 1. REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION (RE: LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX) <br /> Commissioner Davis recalled that at the November 8 , 2011 Board meeting, a citizen had <br /> voiced concerns about a potential 6 -cent increase to the Local Option Gas Tax in years four and <br /> five (2013 -2014) of the Capital Improvements Program . He declared that none of the current <br /> Board members intend to raise the gas tax, and requested a clarification on the prospective <br /> increase . <br /> County Administrator Joseph Baird declared that there would be no increase to the gas <br /> tax this or next year; however, an increase has been included as an optional planned revenue <br /> BK 141 FG 730 <br /> December 6 , 2011 29 <br />
