DEMOLITIONAND REMOVAL OF UNSAFE <br /> STRUCTURES <br /> Jose Guanch, Building Official , recapped his memorandum of February 3 , 2012 , <br /> providing background, conditions , and analysis on five structures proposed for demolition : <br /> 6645 46th Drive, 6655 46th Drive, 319 8th Avenue S . W. , 303 8th Avenue S . W. , and 359 8th <br /> Avenue S . W. , all in Vero Beach. He reported that the structures had been inspected by staff, and <br /> were considered unsafe and detrimental to the health, safety, and welfare of the general public . <br /> He recommended that all structures be demolished. <br /> Commissioner Davis encouraged staff to record the liens as soon as legally possible . <br /> ON MOTION by Commissioner Flescher, SECONDED <br /> by Commissioner Davis , the Board unanimously : <br /> ( 1 ) declared the referenced structures unsafe and a <br /> nuisance ; (2) ordered the buildings demolished, with <br /> related debris removed from the property by a private <br /> vendor approved through standard bid procedures ; and (3 ) <br /> approved Resolution 2012 -009 , providing for the <br /> demolition of unsafe structures and the recovery of costs . <br /> 12.
