Table 55 shows the percentage of high school students in Indian River and Florida in 2004 - 2014, who <br />reported alcohol use. Similar to middle school students, the rate of high school students in Indian River <br />and Florida who reported using alcohol in the past 30 days decreased from 2004 to 2014. In 2014, the <br />rate in Florida (28.4%) was slightly lower than Indian River (31.8%). This percentage represents the <br />number of students reporting having 5 or more drinks in a row in the past 2 weeks. Both the county <br />and state rates decreased in the time period shown, however, Indian River had a greater percentage <br />point decrease, 10.2, versus 8.3 in Florida.
