REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO SUBMIT A FY 2014 GRANT <br />APPLICATION FOR 49 UNITED STATES CODE (USC) CHAPTER 53, <br />SECTION 5307 MASS TRANSIT CAPITAL AND OPERATING ASSISTANCE <br />(ADMINISTRATIVE) <br />The Chairman called a recess at 10:25 a.m., and reconvened the meeting at 10:36 a.m., <br />with all members present. <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Staff Director Phil Matson provided <br />background and analysis on the Federal Government's Section 5307 grant funds. He explained <br />that they provide 50% of the operating subsidies for the GoLine and Community Coach transit <br />services operated by the Senior Resource Association (SRA), and that they require a County and <br />State match for operating expenses. He disclosed that staff would be meeting with the SRA to <br />project what next year's operating expenses will be and asked the Board to approve the <br />proposed Resolution authorizing the filing of the Fiscal Year 2014 Section 5307 grant <br />application. <br />March 18, 2014 13 <br />
