VERO ESTATES, LLC's REQUEST TO AMEND THE TEXT OF THE <br />FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE COUNTY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />(LEGISLATIVE) <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />Community Development Director Robert Keating, using a PowerPoint presentation (on <br />file), provided background, description, and analysis regarding Vero Estates, LLC's request to <br />revise the text of Policy 5.6 of the Future Land Use Element of the County's Comprehensive <br />Plan, for mixed use (residential and commercial uses) planned developments located in <br />residentially designated areas. In addition to the proposed Amendment, the applicant requested <br />the policy be changed to allow up to 2.5 acres of commercial property, located at the northeast <br />comer of CR 510 and 66th Avenue, to be developed in a mixed use planned development before <br />residential development is constructed. He elaborated on the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission's request for additional changes to Policy 5.6, expressed staffs support of the <br />changes, and recommended that the Board approve the proposed Comprehensive Plan Text <br />Amendment (CPTA) for transmittal to State and regional reviewing agencies. <br />April 9, 2013 4 <br />BK 143 PG 700 <br />
