PRESENTATION BY INDL4N RIVER COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE <br />REQUESTING SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR'S VETO OF HB4001/SB320 <br />FLORIDA RENEWABLE FUEL STANDARD ACT <br />Helene Caseltine, Economic Development Director, Chamber of Commerce, 1216 21St <br />Street, provided background and analysis on the negative impact of the proposed legislation: <br />House Bill 4001 (HB 4001) and Senate Bill 320 (SB 320) on the alternative fuels industry and to <br />the County. She explained that this legislation would repeal the Flonda Renewable Fuel <br />Standard Act (Chapter 526.201-207) that encourages alternative fuel usage. Ms. Caseltine <br />reported that the Chamber of Commerce sent a letter (copy on file) asking Governor Scott to veto <br />the bills, and requested that the Board also send correspondence to the Governor asking him not <br />to enact the bills. <br />Commissioners Davis and O'Bryan discussed the negative impacts of producing <br />alternative fuel with corn. <br />Attorney Polackwich stated that corn was not specifically listed as a renewable fuel <br />source in the Florida Renewable Fuel Standard Act. <br />May 7, 2013 4 <br />143 PG 73 <br />
