r <br />Community Development Director Bob Keating used a PowerPoint presentation (on file) <br />to provide background, conditions, and alternatives for County owned surplus properties relating <br />to affordable housing He identified issues and constraints on the properties, and pointed out that <br />one lot has a flow well that has been capped (4256 25th Avenue) but will need to be plugged. He <br />recommended the Board review the list of surplus properties (page 63 of the Agenda Packet), <br />make any changes, and approve the Resolution accepting the surplus properties that are <br />appropriate for the provision of affordable housing. He also recommended that the Board direct <br />the Purchasing Department to sell the properties and contribute the proceeds to the County's <br />Affordable Housing (State Housing Initiatives Partnership - SHIP) Trust Fund. <br />Commissioners sought and received information from staff on capped/plugged wells and <br />the discontinuance of the St. John s River Water Management District's well plugging match <br />program. <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing. There being no speakers, the Chairman closed <br />the Public Hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Solari, the Board unanimously approved: <br />(1) Resolution 2013-052, approving the list of County <br />owned properties appropriate for the provision of <br />affordable housing and providing for the disposition of <br />those properties; and (2) to plug the flow well located at <br />4256 25th Avenue; and (3) to use the sale proceeds of the <br />surplused properties to pay for plugging the well, and any <br />remaining proceeds contributed to the County's <br />Affordable Housing (SHIP) Trust Fund for the provision <br />of affordable housing through the County's existing <br />established Affordable Housing Program. <br />June 11, 2013 8 <br />143 PG 920 <br />
