15. B.4. PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL <br />DISTRICT RATES BY RESOLUTION <br />Managing Director Himanshu Mehta, Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD), announced <br />that this is a public hearing item relating to the amendment of Attachment 2 - Rates and Fees, of <br />the Solid Waste Disposal District's resolution, originally adopted on June 20, 1995. He <br />explained that the amendment is necessary in order to make the tipping fees for a certain <br />category of construction and demolition (C&D) materials consistent with the stipulations in <br />Ordinance No. 2012-011, adopted on May 15, 2012, which retains the current C&D rate of <br />$31.80 per ton for non-exclusive franchise haulers, and reduces the rate to $30.00 per ton for <br />everyone else. <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing <br />Bob Johnson, Coral Wind Subdivision, sought and received a reiteration as to why the <br />rates were being changed. <br />There being no additional speakers, the Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br />June 5, 2012 <br />SWDD <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Flescher, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Solari, the Board unanimously approved <br />Solid Waste Disposal District Rate Resolution 2012-001, <br />amending a portion of Attachment 2 of the District's Rate <br />Resolution, relating to tipping fees for certain categories <br />of construction and demolition debris materials. <br />2 <br />B[. 1 4 2 PG 540 <br />
