Administrator Baird said he would be meeting with Representative Debbie Mayfield <br />tomorrow and would address seeking Legislative assistance in expediting the permit process in <br />this matter. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />The Chairman called for a break at 12:04 p.m. and reconvened the meeting at 12:21 <br />p.m., with all members present. <br />14.B. ACTION PLAN FOR THE INDIANRIVER LAGOON <br />Commissioner O'Bryan summarized his backup material (on file) regarding his <br />assumptions about the Indian River Lagoon, categorized as follows: (1) the things we know <br />now; (2) the things we do not know now; (3) what we can assume going forward (4) short term <br />strategies; (5) medium range strategies; and (6) long range strategies. He thereafter spoke about <br />specific action items that he wanted the Board to consider for implementing an Action Plan that <br />would save the Indian River Lagoon. <br />The Commissioners discussed the Board's leadership role; staff presenting the Board <br />with a feasibility study; and individual Board members duplicating Lagoon initiatives due to the <br />Sunshine Law restnctions that prevent them from being able to discuss issues outside the <br />meeting. <br />July 9, 2013 17 <br />BK 144 PG 073 <br />
