MOTION WAS AMENDED by Commissioner Solari, <br />SECONDED by Chairman Flescher, to request an <br />additional sixty days to notify the State of Florida on the <br />Board's decision regarding the purchase of the former <br />Indian River Correctional Institute property. <br />Further discussion ensued in response to Chairman Flescher's disclosure that there may <br />be heavy pollutants in the area and inside the lake. <br />Attorney DeBraal conveyed that the Board could make successful Phase II <br />Environmental Assessment part of the conditions for purchase of the site. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION, and the <br />Amended Motion carried unanimously. <br />13.B. DEVELOPER REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL 2 -YEAR EXTENSION TO <br />CONSTRUCT REQUIRED SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Solari, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner O'Bryan, the Board unanimously: (1) <br />authorized staff to proceed with advertising for the Board <br />to hold a public hearing to consider amending portions of <br />Chapter 913 with respect to sidewalk extensions on <br />subdivisions that were platted prior to 2009; (2) approved <br />a grace period for the developers from having to construct <br />the sidewalks while the Board considers the adoption of an <br />ordinance amendment to provide for an additional 2 -year <br />extension to the existing sidewalk contracts; if the <br />Ordinance amendment is not adopted, the Board will <br />allow the developers a 90 -day grace period from the date <br />August 20, 2013 58 <br />BK 1144PG236 <br />
