BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />'j <br />+r <br />Florida, does herewith find the tax assessment roll of said County as presented for the year <br />1954 to be equal and just and does herewith approve, ratify and confirm the same. <br />There being no further business, upon motion made, second ed and carried, this <br />Board sitting as a Board of Equalization, then adjourned. <br />ATTEST: <br />CLERK <br />CHA, MAN <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 3. 1954 <br />The B oard of County Commissioners of Indian diver County met at the Courthouse, <br />at Vero Beach, Indian River County, in regular meeting at 9:00 o'clock :a. M. Tuesday, August <br />3, 1954, with the following members present: Commissioners 11. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman, <br />Aubrey L. Waddell, J. J. P. Hamilton, H. C. Watts and Allison Warren. Also present were <br />E. E. Carter, Road & Bridge Superintendent, Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Attorney, and Katherine <br />Morrison, Deputy Clerk. <br />Minutes of July 6th regular meeting were read and the same approved on Motion <br />of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and carried. <br />Minutes of July 23rd, equalization meeting, were read and the same approved <br />on Motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Watts and carried. <br />A Mr. Albritton of Fort Pierce appeared before the Board and asked permission <br />to put up a Motel and store for sport fishermen on the County's property at Lake Wilmington. <br />After considerable discussion the B oard authorized Sherman N. Smith, Jr., attorney, to have <br />an abstract drawn up on this property. The Board requested Mr. Albritton to write the Board <br />a letter setting forth just what he would like to do and then after the abstract is received <br />the Board will decide just what could be done. <br />A committee consisting of Mr. Hanshaw, Mr. Miles and Mr. Hansen from the <br />Roseland Men's Club aplieared before the Board and requested that the Roseland Road be <br />finished. They stated that only a few days work had been done on the road and that it had <br />never been completed.' Mr. Carter gave them assurance that he would be up there in about <br />three weeks to complete the road. <br />A petition was received signed by Ralph B. Cass and 58 additional signatures <br />of the Sebastian area as follows: <br />"The undersigned residents and taxpayers of Indian River County, hereby endorse <br />the Board of County Commissioners in their efforts to secure a divided, or split lane right <br />of way through the City of Sebastian. We do this in the firm belief that this is the most <br />economical from the standpoint of all taxpayers of Indian River County, and most practical <br />from an engineering standpoint; and hereby urge that the project be pushed to completion as <br />soon as possible along the route which has been surveyed. <br />0 <br />u <br />r---1 <br />L-A <br />C� <br />I. <br />1 <br />0 <br />
