453 <br />4. The resurfacing and improvement of State Road 512 from State Road 60 North, a distance <br />of approximately seven miles. <br />• 5. The construction of an extension of AIA North from State Road 502 to the <br />Brevard County line. <br />6. The construction of a road and causeway from :State Road 5 at Wabasso, <br />East to the new location established for AlA right of way. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution be furnished <br />to the Honorable Cecil Webb, Chairman, State Road Department, and to the Honorable Dave <br />Turner, Member, State Road Department from this District. <br />Upon being duly seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, the same was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />R E S O L U T I O N -- SecondaryRom <br />Commissioner Allison Warren introduced the following Resolution and moved <br />its a doption as follows, to-w'it: <br />STATE OF FLORIbA <br />COU-NTY-RESOLUTION ON USE <br />Of <br />80% SEVENTH CENT GAS TAX <br />OTHER SECONDARY ROAD FUND <br />YEAR 1955 COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER <br />WHEREAS,`under Chapter 260321 of the Extraordinary Session of 1949, known as <br />the "Secondary Roads Assistance Act of 1949", the State Road Department will receive 80y of the <br />proceeds of this County's prorata share of the Seventh Cent Gasoline Tax, to be used exclu- <br />sively by the said department within this County, as directed by Resolution of this Board of <br />County Commissioners, for one or more of the following purposes: Construction, reconstruction, <br />maintenance and repair of State roads and bridges, the lease or purchase of bridges connect - <br />Ing State roads, the acquisition of rights of way for State roads, and the reduction of road <br />• and bridge indebtedness; and, <br />WHEREAS, the State Road Department has requested this County Board to designate <br />also the purpose for which, and the roads on which, this County's 80q -surplus gas tax and <br />Federal Aid Secondary allocations <br />should be spent <br />for <br />construction and <br />improvement; and, <br />WHEREAS, the State <br />Road Department <br />is <br />required by law to <br />adopt an annual <br />budget of maintenance and construction work designed to use all except ten percent of its <br />anticipated income during the year, which budget must be set up in January and adopted in <br />February of each year; and, <br />WHEREAS, the State Road Department cannot prepare and adopt a budget until it <br />has ascertained and determined the desire of the Board of County Commissioners, in the form <br />of a Resolution, as to how this County's Secondary Road funds should be used; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the State Road Department of Florida is hereby requested <br />and directed to use such funds on the following projects in the order of their designations <br />as follows, to -wit: <br />
