2) American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) <br /> a. ASTM D - 1248 Polyethylene Plastics Moldings and Extrusion Materials . <br /> 3 ) American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials <br /> a. AASHTO T-99 (2 . 5 kg.) Rammer and a 12- inch (305 mm) Drop, as <br /> modified by T-99 - 801 (Dated 1981 ) . <br /> b . AASHTO T- 180 Density Relations of Soils using a 10 lb . Rammer and <br /> an 18 -inch drop . <br /> co Submittals <br /> 1 ) Shop Drawings - Prior to any fabrication or installation work, the Contractor <br /> shall furnish to the Engineer, for review and approval five (5 ) sets of shop <br /> drawings for the following items . <br /> a. Material specifications for all pipe types , fittings, joints, joint restraint, <br /> and specials . <br /> All drawings shall be reviewed, approved and stamped by the Contractor <br /> pursuant to the provisions of the General Conditions, Article 6 . 24 through 6 .28 . <br /> 2 . MATERIALS <br /> A . P1Ue <br /> 1 ) Ductile Iron Pipe - All ductile iron pipe shall conform to AWWA C151 , ANSI <br /> A21 . 51 and have a rated working pressure of 350 psi (minimum) . All pipe shall <br /> be factory lined and coated . The pipe interior shall receive a 40 mil lining of <br /> "Protecto 401 ". The exterior of the pipe shall have a minimum 1 mile thick <br /> bituminous coating in accordance with AWWA C 151 . <br /> The pipe shall be marked the entire length with three color coded stripes . These <br /> stripes shall be applied in the manner as the required ASTM coding using paint <br /> and with the word "Force Main" in 3/4-inch high letters appearing one or more <br /> times every 21 -inches . As an alternative to lettering, buried pipe may be <br /> continuously spiral wrapped with plastic identification tape marked "Force <br /> Main". Lettering or identification tape shall be brown in color for force <br /> main . <br /> Ductile Iron Pipe shall conform to the following classes : <br /> a. Ductile Iron Pipe under roadways shall be minimum pressure class <br /> 350 . <br /> b . Flanged Ductile Iron Pipe shall be minimum thickness class 53 . <br /> MIscMan Schm\ForcMain.SC4 02'70/- Z. <br />
