Fabrication : <br /> ' Fabricate perimeter frames ofates from om metal and finish to match fence framework. <br /> Assemble gate frames by welding . Provide security against removal or breakage of <br /> ' connections . Provide horizontal and vertical members to ensure proper gate operation <br /> and attachment of fabric, hardware and accessories . Space frame members maximum <br /> of 8 ' apart unless otherwise indicated. <br /> ' 1 . Provide same fabric as for <br /> fence, unless otherwise indicated. Install fabric <br /> with stretcher bars at vertical edges . Attach stretcher bars to gate frame at <br /> ' no more than 15 " o . c . Provide top and bottom rails and tie mesh to rails . <br /> 2 . Install diagonal cross-bracing consisting of 3 /8 " diameter adjustable length <br /> truss rods on gates exceeding 4 ' wide, to insure frame rigidity without sag or <br /> twist. <br /> ' Be Swing Gates : <br /> Fabricate perimeter frames to match top rail material, 1 . 66 " OD pipe, galv. , at 2 . 27 <br /> ' lbs . per lin foot. <br /> C . Gate Hardware : <br /> ' Provide hardware and accessories for each gate, galvanized per ASTM F626, and <br /> in accordance with the following. <br /> ' D . Hinges : <br /> Size and material to suit gate size; non-lift-off type, offset to permit 180 deg . gate <br /> opening (90 degrees in and 90 degrees out) . Provide one and one-half pair of hinges <br /> ' for each leaf over 6 ' nominal height. <br /> E . Latch : <br /> ' Forked type or plunger-bar type to permit operation from either side of gate, with <br /> padlock eye as integral part of latch. <br /> tF . Drop Pins : <br /> Provide adjustable drop pins at all double drive gates . <br /> G. Double Gates : <br /> Provide gate stops for double gates, consisting of 2 " OD galv . pipe , 7 . 2 lbs . per lin. <br /> ' foot X 24 " long, driven into soil and designed to engage center drop rod or plunger <br /> bar.
