Minimum coverage of steel to be 3/4 inch for top bars and 1 . 5 inches for bottom <br /> bars . <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3 . 01 DELIVERY STORAGE AND HANDLING <br /> A. Deliver precast concrete units to project site in such quantities and at such times <br /> to assure continuity of installation. Store units at project site to ensure against <br /> cracking, distortion, staining, or other physical damage, and so that markings are <br /> visible. <br /> 3 . 02 INSTALLATION <br /> A . Lift and support units at designated lift points . Shoring of precast units <br /> shall be installed and removed solely by the contractor under the direct <br /> supervision of the manufacturer. <br /> B . Minimum bearing required at each end is 4 inches . Bearing preferre& is 8 inches . <br /> C . Do not install any damaged units . <br /> 3 . 03 DEFECTIVE WORK <br /> A . Precast concrete units which do not conform to specified requirements , including <br /> strength, tolerances , and finishes, shall be replaced with precast concrete units <br /> that meet requirements of this section .
