3 . 08 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br /> A . When field observation by the Architect or the Owner' s Agent which generates <br /> questions relating to tolerance or quality control, the Contractor shall employ , at his <br /> own expense, a testing laboratory experienced in performing types of masonry field <br /> quality control tests for masonry indicated . Comply with requirements for <br /> ' qualification and acceptance per tolerances stipulated within this section. <br /> B . Unit Test Method : <br /> For each type indicated and per Division - 4 , Sections 04200 and 04300 . <br /> ' C . Mortar Tests : <br /> For each type indicated, test mortar by methods of sampling and testing of ASTM <br /> C-780 . Conduct tests no less frequently than that required to evaluate mortar used <br /> to install each increment of masonry units indicated above from which samples are <br /> taken for testing . <br /> D . Prism Test Method : <br /> 1 . Compression Test : <br /> If required by Architect, test masonry prisms by methods of sampling and <br /> testing of ASTM E-447 , Method B . <br /> 2 . Evaluation of Quality Control Tests : <br /> Masonry work, in absence of other indications of noncompliance with <br /> requirements , will be considered satisfactory if results from construction <br /> quality control tests comply with minimum requirements indicated. <br /> 3 . Protection : <br /> Provide final protection and maintain conditions in a manner acceptable to <br /> Installer, which ensures unit masonry work being without damage and <br /> deterioration at time of substantial completion. <br /> * * * END OF SECTION * * * <br /> i <br /> 04200 -9 <br />
