6 . 01 CHANGES : <br /> It is understood that the Owner shall have the right, during the progress of construction, to <br /> make any alterations , additions , or omissions that he may desire as to the work of materials <br /> herein specified or shown on the plans . The same right shall be carried into effect by the <br /> General Contractor without in any way violating or vitiating the contract, but if such <br /> changes are made, the value of same must be agreed upon, in writing, between the Owner <br /> and the General Contractors or the Owners Request for changes are non-binding . All <br /> Change Orders must be approved by the Owner ' s Governing Board before work is started. <br /> No omissions will be allowed nor extra work paid for unless it has been so ordered in <br /> writing . <br /> 7.01 RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ACCIDENTS : <br /> The General Contractor shall bear losses or damages from accidents which may occur to <br /> any person or persons, by or on account of the prosecution of the work, until such time as <br /> possession is taken by Tenant. The Contractor must provide all legal and necessary <br /> guards, barricades, lights, etc . , during the course of the work. The General Contractor is <br /> solely responsible for job-site safety . <br /> 8 . 01 JOBSITE SUPERINTENDENT : <br /> The Contractor shall have full-time , on-site, job superintendent assigned to the project. <br /> The job superintendent is to be assigned, in writing, by the Contractor with the individual ' s <br /> name submitted to the Owner, thru the Architect, for approval . An alternate on-site job <br /> superintendent shall also be names in the event the primary superintendent cannot meet his <br /> daily obligations (sickness, vacation, etc.) . The same initial jobsite superintendent is to be <br /> available onsite during all project working hours throughout the extent of construction and <br /> until delivery of the project the Owner. In the event the Contractor replaces the job-site <br /> superintendent prior to substantial completion, and the Architect must spend extra time to <br /> educate and inform a new superintendent of jobsite conditions, the General Contractor will <br /> compensate the Architect for his additional time at $ 100 . 00 per hour, including travel time . <br /> 9 .01 BUILDING PERMITS AND CODE : <br /> The Contractor shall endeavor to comply with all mandatory codes pertaining to his work . <br /> Cost of all compliance requirements is to be included in the Contractor' s contract price . <br /> 10.01 SAFETY: <br /> No parts of this facility will be occupied during construction or renovation unless all <br /> existing exits and any existing fire protection measures are continuously maintained, or in <br /> lieu thereof, other measures are taken to provide equivalent safety . The General Contractor <br /> is solely responsible for job site safety . <br /> 01800 -2 <br />
