ORGANIZATION CAPABILITY (Entire Section A not to exceed one page) <br /> 1 . Provide the mission statement and vision of your organization . <br /> The mission of Children ' s Home Society of Florida is to provide effective solutions to build <br /> and support healthy families for Florida ' s children. <br /> We envision Children ' s Home Society as a state and national leader in providing <br /> responsive, relevant, high quality community based services to meet the needs of <br /> individuals , families and communities. In this endeavor, CHS will provide a continuum of <br /> effective, efficient and humane services so that people are empowered to lead responsible, <br /> productive and meaningful lives. CHS will promote collegial partnerships, among both <br /> public and private agencies devoted to serving the best interests of children and families <br /> and to achieve mutual goals through establishing good faith communication, fostering trust <br /> and honoring commitments . <br /> 2 . Provide a brief summary of your organization including areas of expertise, <br /> accomplishments and population served. <br /> Children ' s Home Society has a long and rich legacy as Florida ' s oldest non-profit provider <br /> of services to children and families . In 2002 , Children ' s Home Society marked 100 years of <br /> service. Established in 1902 as an orphanage, Children ' s Home Society has dramatically <br /> expanded its mission as a statewide, multi-service agency. Today, Children ' s Home Society <br /> provides Florida ' s families with a unique spectrum of social services responding to the <br /> needs of various communities , including foster care, adoptions, child abuse prevention , <br /> emergency shelters , group homes, case management and treatment for developmentally <br /> disabled children. The Treasure Coast Division was established in 1991 and currently <br /> operates 12 programs for children of all ages and their families, including Adoptions , <br /> Independent Living, Targeted Case Management, Teen Life Choices , Children In Need of <br /> Services/Families In Need of Services (CINS/FINS) , Wave CREST Shelter, Safe Place, <br /> Child Protection Team , Intensive Crisis Counseling (ICCP) , Recovering Families, <br /> Protective Services , and the Residential Girls Group Home. <br /> Children ' s Home Society is one of the founding members of the Child Welfare League of <br /> America and is accredited by the Council on Accreditation. In 2001 , Children ' s Home <br /> Society was granted the first large privatization contract, for adoption services , from <br /> District 15 of the Department of Children and Families . In November 2001 , the adoption <br /> contract with DCF was expanded to include all adoption cases previously served by the <br /> Department, <br /> 4 <br />
