Inc. for installation of Best Management
Practice: Installation of eight (8) Flashboard Riser Water Control
Structures from Account #001 -259-537-088-680 I.R. County. Clarification
for installation of Culvert 24W, Sun Ag, Fellsmere Farms Joint Venture
MESSAGE
Following is supporting information for payment to Fellsmere Joint Venture, Sun Ag. , Inc . for
the installation of the agreed to Best Management Practice — Installation of flashboard riser water
control structures. This cooperator' s request for cost sharing was approved by the Indian River
Board of County Commissioners on November 18 , 2003 and is shown on the included FY2003
Applicant Score Summary as Applicant . #327 ,
Attached is a revised Exhibit B initialed by the cooperator and David Gunter to show 16W
crossed off and 24W added. Section VII — Remarks - on Exhibit B states the reason for this
action. The culverts are the same size in width and length, so the cost of installation remained
the same as contracted for 16W. Site 24W is a mirror image of 16W, so in light of 24W
collapsing and the emergency situation, a judgment call was made that enabled them to change
the site from 16W to 24W. The request was via telephone and was in August 2004 . Elwood
Holzworth and James Karl completed a construction check in the field and found that 24W
passed USDA/NRCS standards and specifications for installation. Sun Ag consists of
approximately 14,000 acres and relatively flat topography. The W' s and E ' s and AE ' s are all
similar within their categories.
Thank you.
--,-
T1,w;
i' NOV 2 2 2004
1, ";_ C ' EF,K TO T e BOARD
