pay the County for materials at county,cost. This request was granted upon Motion of Comm- <br />issioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Warren and carried. <br />Copy of Report 44176 made on the audit of the accounts and records of the <br />Board of County Commissioners of the Florida Inland Navigation District for the calendar <br />years ended December 31, 1952, December 31, 1953 and December 31, 1954, was presented to the <br />Board of County Commissioners as provided in Section 125..09 Florida Statutes, and ordered <br />filed as a part of the public records of Indian River County. <br />Commissioner Warren, thinking in terms of County Zoning and Planning, suggested <br />that proper legislation be enacted to prevent the starting of walls and abutments extending <br />into the ocean for the protection of adjacent property owners. <br />Commissioner Marren was appointed to investigate the matter of County garbage <br />disposal regarding the possibility of the State matching county funds. <br />The following were appointed Deputy Sheriff's by Sam Joyce, Sheriff, and Douglas <br />Baker, Clerk, announced that said appointments had been filed with him. <br />NAME PRECINCT NO_ CESS <br />Larry Yates 4 <br />G. Blanton 4A <br />Vero Beach, Fla, <br />Vero Beach, Fla. <br />It was ordered that the county's automobile liability policy be renewed with <br />the Rudy Hubbard Agency at a savings of $61.54, policy subject to approval by Attorney Heath and <br />Clerk Baker. <br />The Board suggested that all county insurance policies be made to expire on <br />the same date if at all possible. <br />Mr. Hamilton was requested to inquire as to the amount of insurance carried <br />by the Wabasso Civic Club on the building owned by the County at 11abasso Beach. <br />It was moved by Commissioner Warren, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and <br />carried, that Arch Lill be paid the sum of $50.00 towards the expense of attending a briefing <br />on Civil Defense in Gainesville, Florida for four days. <br />Regarding the Durrance road at Wabasso, the Board determined that when the <br />ditches are in they would try and work out something with the State Road Department with <br />Mrs. Durrance in connection with the road. <br />The Board approved execution of deed on the South Gifford Road upon Notion <br />of 4'ommissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Warren and carried. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker appeared before the Board <br />and made a report of her activities for the month of April. Said report was filed with the <br />Clerk. <br />Upon Notion made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Watts and <br />carried, it was ordered that expenses be paid for E. E. Carter and Walter .Siewert to attend <br />the legislative hearing in Tallahassee May 7th regarding Flood Control matters pertaining <br />to Indian River County, <br />The Board authorized "No Parking" and "No Camping" signs be placed on the <br />landing where boats are put in on county owned land at Blue Cypress Lake. <br />Minutes of April 5th, regular meeting and April 22nd, special meeting, were <br />read and approved upon Notion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner 11.1addell <br />and carried. <br />1 <br />1 <br />0 <br />11 <br />0 <br />1 <br />1 <br />n <br />LJ <br />
