i I <br />After careful consideration of all bids submitted and upon the recommendation <br />d <br />of E. E. Carter, Road Bridge Superintendent, it was moved by Commissioner Hamilton, seconded' <br />by Commissioner Watts and carried that the Board accept the following bids. <br />Item 91 - Purchase culvert pipe from both Armco and Tri-State. <br />Item -42 - Purchase oak lumber from John Cashion <br />Item '93 - A B - Purchase Asphaltic Concrete from Swords - both spread and { <br />at plant. <br />Item 44 Treated bridge pile & Timber from Glades Lumber Co. <br />Item 95 - Cement bid of Rinker's rejected as too high. t <br />Item 96 - Purchase rovid rock from Naranja because of lower freights rate, <br />Item 47 - Purchase Grade B Amiesite from Tampa Coal Company because of <br />lower freight rate. <br />At the invitation of the Board of County Commissioners, RobertlGraves At' <br />Forney, Everett. Vickers, Dewey :teams and J. S. Holmes appeared before the Board to dsculss <br />the re -activation of the County Planning and Zoning Commission. After a general'discuss'ion y <br />the Attorney outlined the law under which the Board -would operate and pointed!,out any argu- <br />ments and disagreements by the Planning Commission and the developer would be'settled by <br />an appeal Board of 5 men appointed by the Governor. Charman 11. C. Graves, Jr. of the Board <br />of Cou'ty Commissioners explained that there was a need for some Planning and ...oning but <br />that iwas the hopes of the Board that the whole program could be held to a simple, and <br />workab, a plan for the benefit of the tax -payers and builders of our county. He stated that <br />he felt sure that we would be able to operate the planning and zoning board with local home <br />talent rather than importing -outside specialists. <br />Upon Motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and <br />carried, the Planning and Zoning Commission for Indian River County, was re -activated with <br />Robert Graves as Chairman and I:9embers, Al Forney, Everett Vickers. Dewey Reams a.nd J. S. <br />Holmes. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County welfare Case Corker, made a report df her <br />activities for the month of July and said report was ordered filed with the Clerk. <br />Application for duplicate tax sale certificates were made by,Margaret M. <br />Ryburn, and said application was approved by the Board on the following certificates: - <br />umber Date of vale <br />1107 June 1, 1931 <br />1108 June 1, 1931 <br />1111 June 1, 1931 <br />1112 June 1, 1931 <br />1113 June 1_, 1931 <br />Application for duplicate tax sale certificate was made'by E. E. Carter and <br />J.
