B . Each panel shall consist of two or more mill widths of open selvage construction ; the two upper layers shall be joined together by sewing , and the two bottom layers shall be sewn together at the edges . Where adjacent panels cannot be joined in this manner, they shall be lapped a minimum of 24t. In no case will simple butt joint , either sewn or unsewn , be permitted . The ends and upper limits of the fabric mat shall be placed in a trench not less than 24-in deep and backfilled for the entire perimeter of fabric riprap as shown on the plans . All backfill shall be compacted to a minimum of 95 percent modified proctor density. C . Small cuts shall be made in the fabric to allow for the insertion of the grout hose or grout nozzle . Grout shall be introduced into the space between the layers of fabric and shall be injected in such a way the excessive pressure on the fabric envelope is avoided . Starting at the lowest elevation and working up the slope , the grout shall be injected in such a way that the distance from the point of injection to the end of the panel is not greater than 30-ft. After grouting has been completed , the void between trench wall and filled fabric shall be backfilled and compacted . D . Holes in the fabric left by the removal of the grout hose or inserts shall be temporarily P Y closed by inserting a piece of burlap or similar material . The burlap shall be removed when the mortar is no longer fluid and the surface is firm to hand pressure . Foot traffic on the filled fabric formed concrete riprap shall be limited to an absolute minimum for 1 hour after pumping in order to reduce indentation . tE . Edge treatment for fabric formed riprap shall consist of a "key-in " or perpendicular placement of riprap , a minimum of 2-ft deep as measured from finished grade . Trench shall be backfilled and compacted no earlier than 1 hour after placement of concrete . Filled trench area shall be sodded as specified in Section 02485 . 3 . 03 ACCEPTANCE SAMPLING AND TESTING A . Acceptance test shall be by compressive strength , For each 500 s d or less of g qY placement, two concrete cylinders shall be made and tested at 28 days according to applicable procedures .
