Mrs. Anne Christensen, Welfare Case Worker, was present and the child welfare <br />problem of,the County was discussed, in that it appeared that additional funds would be <br />needed unless other ways and means could be found to provide for the care of some of the <br />children. Attorney Smith together with 'Mrs. Christensen were appointed a committee to study <br />and investigate the matter and report back to the Board. <br />Deputy Sheriff's Bond for Frondren Mitchell in the sum of $1,000.00 with the <br />St. Paul Mercury Indemnity Company as surety was approved. <br />Notary Public Bond in the sum of $500.00 for Barbara F. Briggs with Massachu- <br />setts Bonding Company was approved. <br />HARDSHIP PETITION AND RESOLUTION FOR ANNIE B. BEACH. <br />E E S 0 L R I I R II <br />Commissioner Allison Marren intooduced the following Resolution and moved <br />its adoption as follows, to -wit: <br />WHEREAS, Ann%e B. Beach has filed her Petition with this Board praying for <br />conveyance to her of the property hereinafter described; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has considered the same and it <br />appears to the satisfaction of said Board that the property hereinafter described was in <br />fact occupied by. Virginia Wigfield as her homestead and all taxes thereon duly assessed <br />were regularly paid excepting only the two Tax Sales Certificates referred to in said Petition, <br />which were assessed to Annie B. Beach without the knowledge of their non-payment by either <br />Annie B. Beach or Virginia Wigfield and that a failure to approve said Petition would work <br />a severe hardship on the Petitioner; and, <br />WHEREAS, this Board has determined that all of the taxes have been assessed, <br />levied and paid against said property except as to said two Tax Sales Certificates and that <br />the amount necessary to redeem said certificates as of the date said property reverted to <br />Indian River County is $37.63, and that the price for the sale of said lands heretofore fixed <br />by Resolution of this Board is $75.00; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, that the Petition of ltnnie B. Beach for the conveyance to her of the following <br />described lands, situated in Indian River County, Florida, to -wit: <br />An undivided one-half interest in and to the following: <br />Beginning at the centre post of Section 15, Township 32 South, <br />Range 39 East, thence East 8 chains and 75 links, thence North <br />9 chains and 28 links to a post, thence North 6 chains and <br />32 links to a post, thence West 16 degrees North 9 chains and <br />80 links to a post, thence South 6 chains and 47 links to a <br />post, thence East 16 degrees South to a post, thence East 6 chains <br />to post at Southeast corner of said property, containing 10 <br />acres, more or less; <br />at and for a total purchase of $75.00 is herewith approved, and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Indian River County, Florida, acting by and thoough <br />its Board of County Commissioners, having received said sum of $75.00 in cash, shall convey <br />to Annie B.
