r 532 <br />Kurt Kraft appeared before the Board and submitted information regarding the pro <br />posed building to be located at the East end of Block 2, Langwick S/D, <br />Upon Motiom of Commissioner ITaddell, seconded by Commissioner 11arren and carried <br />the Board agreed to sell to Kurt Kraft, Agent, Lots 37, 38 and 39, Block 1, Langwick S/D at <br />a minimum base bid of $100.00 per front foot, and to buy Lots 26, 27 and 28, Block, 2, Langwick <br />S/D at a price of $40.00 per front foot and dedicate the last mentioned lots to the City of <br />Vero Beach for public use and purposes and with the further provision that the County will <br />grade and shell surface Lots 27 to 36, inclusive, Block 1, Langwick S/D. in order that the City <br />may use same as a parking lot. Chairman Graves then appointed Commissioners Farren and Waddell <br />together with E. E. Carter, Road & Bridge Superintendent, and Attorney Smith to work with the <br />City in the matter. <br />The Board advised Harold Mason, Chairman of the County Fair Association, that they <br />would cooperate and support the County Fair to be held sometime in the near future. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, appeared before the Board and made a report of her activ <br />ities for the Month of December, and said report was ordered filed with the Clerk. <br />Notary Public Bonds were approved for each of the following: <br />Name <br />Amount Surety Company <br />B. Holman <br />$500.00 <br />St. Paul Mercury Indemnity <br />Company <br />It was moved by <br />Commissioner Waddell, <br />seconded by Commissioner <br />Hamilton and <br />carried, that the Board agrees <br />upon the affected <br />property owners conveying to <br />the County a <br />100 foot wide right of way for <br />State Road A -1-A <br />from the northern city limits <br />of Vero Beach <br />to Bethel Isles Subdivision tin Goveriment Lot 2, <br />Section 29, Township 32 South, Range 40 East), <br />that then the County will agree to abandon that <br />part of the County road which <br />parallels the <br />new right-of-way; that the new <br />right-of-way is to <br />be opened up for traffic on <br />shell surfaced <br />road before the old road is abandoned. <br />It was moved by Commissioner €1addell, seconded by Commissioner Warren and <br />carried, that the County will construct a bridge across the relief canal on 20th street, fur- <br />nishing labor and material upon the payment of $4,000.00. <br />The Board agreed to pay Col. A. V. Lill, not to exceed the sum of $50.00, for <br />expenses to attend the Civil Defense Staff College at Tallahassee, January 19th to 21st. <br />It was moved by Commissioner Warren, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and <br />carried, and Attorney Smith was instructed to file a suit in Circuit Court in order to determine <br />,the proper qualifying dates for candidates for public office in Indian River County for the <br />1956 Primaries. <br />1 <br />i <br />1] <br />L <br />El <br />1 <br />1 <br />0 <br />
