<br />Dollars for the Dedication ceremonies to be held Thursday, February 23rd, at which time said
<br />Highway will be formally dedicated, and further stated that the Cities of Fort Pierce and
<br />0 Vero Beach and the County of St. Lucie had agreed to pay three-fourths of said cost and
<br />requested that Indian River County pay one-fourth of the cost. It was moved by Commissioner
<br />Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Watts and carried, that Indian diver County shall pay one-
<br />fourth of said costs.
<br />Mr. Bob Carter, of the State Board of Health, appeared before the Board and
<br />discussed the indigent hospitalization program passed by the 1955 legislature, providing for
<br />County and State indigents. After considerable discussion in the matters Douglas Baker,
<br />Clerk, was instructed to contact James Anderson and Paul Goodridge together with Secretary
<br />Thatcher, representing the Hospital, and Dr. Neil Miller, Director of the Indian River County
<br />Health Unit, to attend a special meeting with this Board to be held at 9:00 o'clock A. M.
<br />Friday, February 17th.
<br />Deputy Sheriff's Bond in the sum of $1,000.00 for Clinton F. Bates with St.
<br />0 Paul Mercury Indemnity Company was approved.
<br />Deputy Sheriff's Bond in the sum of $1,000.00 for Willie Ben Aughtman with St.
<br />Paul Mercury Indemnity Company as surety was approved.
<br />Mrs. ,Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker, gave a report of her acti-
<br />vities for the Month of January and same was ordered filed by the Clerk.
<br />Douglas Baker, Clerk, was instructed to deposit $3642.21 of Excess fees in the
<br />Capital Outlay Fund.
<br />Upon Motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and
<br />carried, the Board agreed to provide a Deputy Sugrervisor of Registration for part time work
<br />during the month of March.
<br />Bill Taylor, Architect, submitted sketches as to the addition to the Courthouse
<br />and it was moved by Commissioner Taddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, and carried,
<br />to proceed with the South addition, or with the addit.,iop-ego the South end of the Courthouse

<br />Charlie Billings, District Parole Ufficer, was present and offered to submit
<br />a copy of the plans to the Honorable A. U. Kanner, Circuit Judge, to see if there might be
<br />any recommendation he might care to make.
<br />• The Board authorized the purchase of a four drawer filing cabinet for the
<br />County Agent's office.
<br />E. E. Carter, Road & Bridge Superintendent was requested to have a survey made
<br />on the Radar Park Base property.
<br />Notary Public Bond for J. R. Jamison in the sum of $500.00 with the American
<br />Surety Company of New York as surety, was approved by Douglas Baker, Clerk.
<br />A certified copy of Resolution duly adopted by the County Democratic Executive
<br />Committee, setting out the Party assessments levied against the various candidates who parti-
<br />cipate in the Democratic primary election to be held in May, 1956, was received and noted as
<br />follows:

<br />Two (2/) per cent of the annual salary of the
<br />office sought by any Democratic candidate.
