Indian River County, Amendment No . 2 <br /> 58th Avenue and State Road 60 <br /> Intersection Improvements <br /> 3 . Perform (2) , 30- foot deep Standard Penetration Test ( SPT) borings to <br /> determine soil parameters of in- situ materials in the proposed stormwater <br /> management facilities to determine potential for material to be utilized as <br /> roadway embankment . Measure and record depth to groundwater upon <br /> completion of each boring and one hour thereafter and log the date and <br /> time of measurements . <br /> 4 . Note any rubbish, trash, debris or auger refusal, if encountered . Also note <br /> any contamination with petrochemicals evident visually or through odor or <br /> the soils encountered . If petrochemicals are encountered, notify the <br /> COUNTY immediately. Appropriately backfill all borings after recording <br /> ground water levels . Work shall be done at times that will minimize <br /> traffic disruptions (avoid AM and PM peak traffic hours) . Provide <br /> appropriate lighting and safety traffic control devices such as flashing <br /> message/arrow boards during the work. Coordinate with utilities prior to <br /> start of coring activities . <br /> 5 . The typical Geotechnical Report will include : <br /> • Discussion of site regional geologic or physiographic setting . <br /> • Discussion of general and specific subsurface conditions <br /> encountered by the exploration. <br /> • Discussion of any adverse soil conditions (such as muck, high <br /> plasticity clays, etc . ) encountered during the exploration . Include <br /> recommendations for remedial actions (removal , stabilization, etc . ) <br /> for any adverse conditions found. <br /> • Discussion of any petroleum or other hazardous contamination <br /> encountered by the borings . Identify and map locations of concern <br /> based on the reconnaissance . <br /> • Provide boring profile reports . <br /> • Recommendations for additional study, if appropriate <br /> Prior to commencing with the Geotechnical Investigation, previous investigations <br /> at the College Lane/ 58th Avenue and State Road 60/ 58th Avenue intersections <br /> will be reviewed to determine if existing data can be utilized as it relates to mast- <br /> arm foundation designs . Deliverables shall consist of six (6) copies of the <br /> Geotechnical Report with soil boring records , test results, photographs and similar <br /> data, summary of testing program and recommendations ; soil boring plan for <br /> incorporation into the roadway plan package . <br /> Page 5 of 7 <br />
