E <br />1 <br />• <br />L <br />0 <br />1 <br />1 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has received such complaints and such <br />testimony offered, if any, and has examined and reviewed said assessment roll and has found <br />it unnecessary to increase the valuation of any property shown thereon and has found such <br />assessment roll to be correct; Now, therefore, <br />I BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, F <br />H does herewith find the tax assessment roll of said County as presented for the year 1957 to <br />be equal and just and does herewith approve, ratify and confirm the same. <br />- - • • - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br />A Petition containing some 53 names was presented to the Board with reference to <br />making improvements to the County Landing at Blue Cypress Lake, as follows: <br />1. Improvements to Boat Launching Facilities and Parking area. <br />2. Regular Maintenance of County Road <br />3. Drilling of Well to provide safe drinking water. <br />4. Construction of Picnic Area with Picnic tables and open fireplace. <br />5. Adequate Rest rooms. <br />It was further noted that Don Fisher has offered to donate his labor to build picnic <br />facilities, if materials are forthcoming. After some discussion in the matter and upon Motion <br />made by Commissioner Robert Graves, seconded by W. C. Graves, Jr., and unanimously carried, <br />the Board authorized spending up to $100.00 to buy materials for picnic tables and having a <br />well put down. <br />Goree Blanton appeared before the Board and said that the County had just obtained <br />some land from the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund adjoining the Oslo Cemetery and <br />a small portion of this land was across the Old Dixie Highway from the cemetery and therefore <br />would never be used as a cemetery, but he would like to have it because it joined his land., <br />After some discussion in the matter and upon Motion made by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., <br />seconded by Commissioner Robert Graves and carried, the Clerk was directed to offer that part <br />lying East of the 40 foot from centerline of State Road 605 of the following described pro- <br />perty, to -wit: <br />Beginning at a point 210 feet East of the Northwest corner of the Southeast <br />quarter of the NE quarter of Sec. 24, Twp 33 S, Rge 39 E run East 258 feet, <br />South 210 feet, West 258 feet, North 210 feet to the p.o.b. <br />for public sale and to set a base bid of $50.00 on said property. <br />Mr. Nels Larsen appeared before the Board requesting a blinker light be placed at <br />the Railroad crossing on Church Street, also that a stop sign be placed on the West side of <br />the Old Dixie Highway on Church Street. He also stated that this road is known as Church <br />Street, Rosedale and 12th Street and he would like for the road to have only one name as <br />people had a hard time finding anyone living on this road. After discussion in the matter <br />and upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Robert Graves and <br />unanimously carried, the Board decided that the road known as Church street, 12th Street and <br />known as Rosedale, be officially known and designated through its entire length as 12th Street. <br />The Board also requested the Superintendent of Roads Ed Schmucker to put up the'Stop sign on <br />the West side of the Old Dixie Highway on 12th Street. The Board also advised Mr: Larsen that <br />9 <br />
