u <br />1 <br />1 <br />0 <br />1 <br />r <br />i <br />1 <br />1 <br />• <br />I <br />WHEREAS, this Board did met at the time and place stated in said advertisement <br />for the purpose of hearing requests and complaints of the public regarding said Supplemental <br />Budget and for the purpose of holding a public hearing and making whatever revisions in the <br />I budget it may deem necessary; Now, therefore, <br />I, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida does herewith tentatively adopt said Supplemental Budget for the fiscal year <br />°° ending September 30, 1957 in the form heretofore tentatively adopted and duly advertised. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Supplemental Budget shall be filed in the office <br />of the County Auditor as a public record and the Clerk hereof shall transmit two copies <br />F' of the Supplemental Budget as adopted to the Comptroller of the State of Florida and said <br />N Supplemental Budget shall be considered as finally adopted and official upon approval as to <br />�i <br />i <br />form by the Comptroller. <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br />A letter was received from Joe H. Earman, Chairman of the Red Cross Disaster Pre- <br />paredness Committee requesting the approval of the following members as a committee having <br />'I <br />the authority to force persons to evacuate places of danger during a hurricane, to -wit: Sam <br />Joyce, Sheriff; Fred Lane,- Vero Beach City Manager; Col. O'Brien, Civil Defense Director; <br />W. C. Graves, Jr., County Commissioner and Wallace Gossett, Vero Beach Chief of Police. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner Robert Graves, seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and un- <br />animously carried said members were approved. <br />A notice was received from the State Comptroller's Office stating there.:would be a <br />representative from the State Retirement Office and a representative from Social Security <br />here on September 20th at 8 P.M., and the Comptroller requests that the County officials <br />notify the Director of the State and County Retirement as to the location of the place of meet] <br />The Board requested the Secretary to notify the Comptroller that said meeting would be held <br />4 <br />in the Courtroom of the Courthouse.- <br />On <br />ourthouse.On Motion of Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., seconded by 'Commissioner McCullers <br />q' and carried, the following Resolution was duly adopted: <br />R E S O L U T I O N -- Aircraft <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 24045, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1947, as <br />t' amended, all monies from registration of aircraft are collected by the Motor Vehicle Comm- <br />issioner; and <br />WHEREAS, the net proceeds from these monies after a deduction for the necessary <br />expenses of the Motor Vehicle Commission, are deposited to the credit of the Florida Develop- <br />ment Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, fifty per cent (50%) of the monies collected by the counties is refundable <br />to the counties; and <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 18 of said Act it is provided that the <br />funds paid to the counties may be expended for general purposes by said counties, but the <br />counties may designate the Florida Development Commission as their agent to expend said <br />
