300-6 . Prime shall be applied at the rate of 0 .50 gallon per square yard , or <br /> as directed by the Engineer. <br /> B . Arterial Streets: In arterial streets , the Contractor shall , after completion and <br /> acceptance of the backfill , construct a base course in accordance with the <br /> typical section . Upon completion of the base course , the Contractor shall <br /> construct an asphaltic concrete surface course , Type II , in accordance with <br /> FDOT Specifications , Section 332 , Articles 332- 1 through 332-5. The top of <br /> the surface course shall be constructed flush with the adjacent asphalt <br /> surface . Thickness of the replaced course shall match the thickness of the <br /> existing surface course . <br /> 3.05 EMERGENCY REPAIRS AND PROCEDURES <br /> The Contractor shall provide the name and telephone number of at least two <br /> persons designated by the Contractor to receive notification of the need for <br /> emergency repairs. These persons shall be available for emergency notification on <br /> a 24 hour basis . The County will provide the name, or names, of its designee who <br /> will be charged with giving notice to the Contractor when the need for emergency <br /> repairs , or other actions, is necessary on work that has been performed by the <br /> Contractor. When so notified by the person so designated by the County that <br /> emergency repairs, or other actions, are necessary the Contractor will be given a <br /> reasonable time to respond to the situation . At the time of notification the Contractor <br /> will give the time that he will be able to take action to rectify the emergency <br /> conditions . If this time is not satisfactory to the County, the County reserves the <br /> right to have the Road & Bridge Division make necessary repairs, or take other <br /> emergency actions as required to restore the pavement, or take other actions <br /> necessary. The County will invoice the Contractor for the actual time and materials <br /> used in executing the emergency repairs or actions. This amount will be based <br /> upon hourly rates and actual materials cost to the County. The labor rates will be <br /> supplied to the Contractor prior to beginning work under this Contract. If the <br /> Contractor does not pay the invoice as presented by the County, the County <br /> reserves the right to withhold that amount from the Contractor on the Final Pay for <br /> this Contract. <br /> 3 .06 SIDEWALK, CONCRETE DRIVEWAY, CURB , AND COMBINED <br /> GUTTER REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT <br /> A. SURFACE PREPARATION : <br /> 1 . Remove loose material from the compacted subbase surface <br /> immediately before placing concrete . <br /> 2 . Proof-roll prepared subbase surface to check for unstable areas and <br /> the need for additional compaction . Do not begin paving work until <br /> such conditions have been corrected and are ready to receive <br /> paving . Comply with requirements of FDOT Section 230, Paragraph <br /> 230-6 . <br /> B . Do not place concrete until subbase and forms have been checked for line <br /> and grade .
