A. Indian River County: The Contractor is required to notify the Indian River <br />County Utilities Department 48 hours prior to initiating construction (Gordon <br />Sparks, 772-567-8000 x 1823). The Contractor is required to notify the <br />Indian River County Road and Bridge Department 72 hours prior to blocking <br />any County roads or detouring any traffic (Jim Davis, P.E., 772-567-8000, <br />Extension 1245). <br />B. Utility Companies: Contractor shall notify the following known utility <br />companies in the area 48 hours prior to initiating construction: <br />SUNSHINE LOCATES: (800) 432-4770 <br />Southern Bell Telephone, Bill Moore, (772) 468-5538 <br />Comcast, Craig Bowers, (772) 567-3444 Ext. 51 <br />FP&L, Paul Hess, (772) 337-7002 <br />City Gas Company, Glen 'Bock" Kreinhagen, (561) 871-2552 ext.23 <br />Florida Gas & Transmission, Cecil Walker, (321) 288-8839 <br />C. The Contractor shall give the Engineer not less than seven (7) calendar <br />days notice of the time and place (or places) where he will start the work. <br />D. When the Contractor's excavating operations encounter prehistoric remains <br />or artifacts of historical or archeological significance, the operations shall be <br />temporarily discontinued in that area and the Engineer shall be notified. The <br />Engineer will consult archaeological authorities and determine the <br />disposition of the remains or artifacts.
