250 <br />TUESDAY, LARCH 6th, 1928. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian, River County, Florida, met at <br />the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, March 6th 19289 with the <br />following members of the Board present: John H. Atkin, Chairman; Geo..A.Braddoek; <br />J. 7. IsBruce; J. J. P. Hamilton and 0. 0. Helseth. Also present were Miles Marren, <br />- - . _ _.8herif.f , _. <br />Clerk and J.i'.Knight ,/by Deputy. <br />The, Minutes of the previous meeting were read and app roved. <br />W.3. -Sexton, appeared before the Board and requested road leading from Clemons .Ave., <br />West to his home, and known as Road B--2 be marled. It was ordered that the County <br />Engineer do this work as soon as he can conveniently get to,it. <br />It was ordered that the County Engineer marl about 600 feet of road on Rosedale <br />.Avenue, as soon as he can get to this , work. <br />'Several citizens of Roseland appeared before the Board respecting repairs to, Old <br />Roseland Road known as the Bay -Mlore Drive. It was ordered that the County Engineer <br />repair this road when work at V7abasso is in progress. <br />i7.E.Godel, appeared before the Board regarding urgent need of repairs to road <br />designated as Sub -Lateral B-6 road. It was ordered that this work be done by the Co uf. <br />Engineer. <br />`S. N. Smith appeared before the Board regarding road known. and designated as <br />Bub -lateral B-4 Road. The Board agreed to take the same under consideration. <br />H.E.Kj orsvick and A. Hallstrom appeared before the Board regarding improvement <br />of the Dixie Highway south of Rm Vero Beach. <br />The following resolution was offered by Commissioner LaBruce, <br />=REAS, it has been brought to the attention of this Board that the State Road <br />Department of the State of Florida has designated State Road No. 142 which is to extend <br />along the Atlantic Ocean from St Augustine to Miami, and, <br />AREAS the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County has already <br />anticipated such an action by the'State Road Department and has secured and obtained tb <br />right-of-way for a road on the peninsular through this County along the Atlantic Ocean, <br />NOWt THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian Ricer <br />County, does hereby offer such right-of-way to the State Road Department for use as a <br />part of State Road No. 142 and does urge the State Road Department to give the same its <br />earnest consideration. <br />Henry Schuman appeared before the Board regarding road on the teninsular north of <br />Vabasso Bridge. Board agreed to go over this road Fridays March 16th at 2 o'clock P.M. <br />and inspect the same. <br />The Notary Public Bond of Rachael Brocksmith in the sura of 0500.00 with Waldo E. <br />Sexton and Walter S. Buckingham as sureties was approved. <br />It was ordered that the bill of C. H. Pettibone for. $127.50 for damage sustained <br />by collession with County 'truck be paid, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Board <br />that the truck driver was at fault. <br />It was <br />m.oved,eeconded and carried that <br />$600.00 be <br />appropriated for General <br />advertising <br />and publicity during the Shrine <br />Convention <br />to be held in Miami on May 19 2, <br />and 3. Such appropriation to be paid out of the Publicity Fund of the County. <br />The County Democratic Executive committee having met, and adopted the assessments <br />to be levied against the candidates for the various offices of the County, for party <br />organizations assessments were thereupon made for the purpose of defraying all expense <br />in connection with the ?rimary Election to be held Tuesday, June 5th 1928s as follows:. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
