d TUESDAY NOVENiBEK:e�: 195 e e <br />P <br />® The Board of County,Commissioners of Indian River County,.met at the Courthouse, <br />Vero Beach, Florida in a regular meeting held at. �9:00�-o'=clock 'A. ,M. ,--Tuesdsy - November .4, <br />1955. All members were present. -Also present were -Ed Schmudker, County Engineer, Sherman <br />q <br />N. Smith, Jr., Attorney and Katherine Morrison, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman asked if there were any changes or additions to be made to the <br />1 <br />minutes of October 2nd, 7th and 21st. There were none and upon Motion made by Commissioner <br />Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Robert Graves and unanimously carried, the minutes were <br />approved as read. <br />At the meeting of October 7th the Board had agreed to return to Mrs. Ila Krogel <br />the unused portion of the right of way obtained for U.S. #1 upon payment by Mrs. Kroegel <br />of the sum of $500.00. The County Attorney stated there is some question as to whether <br />this is the correct amount and requested that the Board have the Engineer look into the <br />matter and to notify him as to just how much the County paid Mrs. Kroegel and for how much <br />property. The Board so requested the Engineer. <br />A proposed change in zoning was held.at the meeting of October 21st and tabled <br />until this meeting. The Chairman stated that the following described property was requested <br />by Mr. Talbot to be changed from C-1, Commercial District, to M -1-A, Restricted Industrial <br />District: <br />"All that area lying within 330 feet East of the right of way <br />of the Florida East Coast Railway and located in the Northeast <br />quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 20, Twp. 31 S., Rge. 39 East." <br />and asked if there were any present who wished to be hear. There were many who wished to <br />be heard and were hear. After considerable discussion in the matter and upon Motion made <br />by Commissioner Robert Graves, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, <br />the Board denies the re -zoning of this area. <br />Mrs. Tennie Lee Bradley appeared before the Board and requested that the County <br />and City make a public parking lot on mots 27 to 39 in Block 1, Lapgwick S/D. After con- <br />siderable discussion in the matter and upon Motion made by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., <br />seconded by Commissioner Robert Graves and carried, the Board requested the County Engineer <br />to contact the Engineer for the City of,. -Vero Beach and that they cooperate in making an <br />estimate of the cost of clearing and putting these lots in shape for a parking lot. <br />Frank Zorc appeared before the Board and requested that Rosedale Road be paved <br />before Glendale. <br />x. <br />q`2% <br />Mr. Zorc had appeared before with the same request and was told that work T�'2l <br />had progressed too far on Glendale Road to do anything about this matter, and he was so <br />informed. again. <br />Ruth Davis of Wabasso appeared before the Board and stated that the County said <br />they would put a road into her house but had not done so up till now. The Board requested <br />Mr. Schmucker to do what he could for her as soon as possible. <br />The County Attorney presented to the Board the disclaimer of the State Road Depart- <br />ment of Florida dated November 3, 1955, pertaining to and disclaiming the interest of the <br />State Road Department of Florida in and to a part of the former State Road A -1-A.
