<br />conjunction with the General Election for the purpose of determining whether or not a public

<br />�j After said votes were canvassed and upon Motion made by Commissioner McCullers,
<br />seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, the following Resolution was adopted,,
<br />it
<br />R E S 0 L U T :I O N -- Hospital Election p�
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, did
<br />heretofore adopt a resolution calling a special election in conjunction with the General
<br />Election held in Indian River Coungy, Florida, on November 4, 1958, for the purpose of deter- 1i
<br />mining whether or not a public hospital shall be established in Indian River County, Florida,
<br />and for the levying of a tax not to exceed 5 mills on the dollar and for a bond issue not to •
<br />exceed an aggregate principal amount of $750,000.00, for the maintenance and purchase of such
<br />hospital; and,
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said resolution and publication of notice, a special election
<br />was held in Indian River County, Florida, in conjunction with the general election on November
<br />4, 1958, to vote upon said issue; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Registration of Indian River County, Florida, has certi-
<br />fied to the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, the names of all
<br />registered freeholders within said County qualified to vote in said election; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the votes cast in said election have been returned, tallied and canvassed;
<br />Now, therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida,
<br />that it is hereby determined by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County,
<br />ry
<br />Florida, that the total number of qualified electors being freeholders and being registered
<br />and residing in Indian River County, Florida, and being qualified as freeholders to participate!
<br />in said election was 5974 freeholders who were qualified electors; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total number of votes cast in said election in favor
<br />of the approval of the issue in said election was 2026 and the total number of votes cast in
<br />k�
<br />said election against the issue of said election was 1059; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a majority of the freeholders who are qualified electors
<br />residing in Indian River County, Florida, participated in said special election and a majority
<br />of the votes cast in said special election were cast in favor of approving the issue in aaid
<br />election; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
<br />Governor of the State of Florida, requesting the Governor to immediately proceed to appoint
<br />five trustees as a board of hospital trustees for Indian River County, Florida, as provided by
<br />law; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
<br />Secretary of State of the State of Florida.
