Any such bond shall be payable to Indian River County, a <br />political subdivision of the State of Florida, acting by and through its Board of County <br />+� <br />Commissioners. <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - B <br />The Commissioners decided they would have two meetings a month, being the first and d <br />third Tuesdays of each month instead of one. <br />The County Engineer stated he had tabulated all bids for a new dragline, bucket and I� <br />pile driving equipment, and further stated that since so little was offered for the old drag-' <br />line as a trade-in that the Board keep the old dragline and put it -out at one of the marl pits.,, <br />Low bidder for the dragline was Northwest Engineering Co. at a price of $25,240.00 - <br />this without trade-in. Upon Motion made by Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner <br />McCullers and unanimously carried, the bid by Northwest Engineering Co. was accepted, further <br />stating that the County would retain the old equipment. <br />Low bidder for 3/4 yard bucket was Florida Equipment Co. at a price of $875.00. Igj <br />II There were two low bidders on the Pile -driving equipment, according to our specifications., <br />One was Adams Construction Co. and the other was Florida Equipment Co. The representative for <br />Florida Equipment Co. said to let Adams have the bid, so upon Motion made by Commissioner <br />Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, the bid by Adams <br />Construction Co. of $1800.00 for the pile -driving equipment was O.K.ed. <br />Mrs. V. L. Whittier appeared before the Board and stated that the County had won <br />their suit to have the Blue Cypress Road opened and the Surrency's were to remove the gate but <br />they had not as yet done so. The Board informed Mrs. Whittier that Mrs. Surrency had 60 days <br />in which to comply with the Court Order or to appeal to a higher court and that they would <br />take no action until the 60 day period was up. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker appeared before the Board and gave <br />a report of her activities for the month of December, said report was ordered filed. <br />The County Engineer stated that he had gone to Jacksonville on Friday and consulted <br />with the State Board of Health with regard to our plans for a Nursing and Old Folk's Home, <br />and that the State Board of Health and turned down our plans.
